This is not a kit, it is a ready-to-rock Octave Replica Stompbox (to buy a kit click here). The pedal is Hand Built by JD Sleep of General Guitar Gadgets. This is functionally the exact circuit of the original Tycobrahe Octave Stompbox Note: this is not a replica of the Chicago Iron stompbox and Tycobrahe is a trademark owned by Chicago Iron and Chicago Iron is probably a trademark owned by Chicago Iron as well. This stompbox has the addition of a three non-intrusive modifications. 1) There is a Octave/Distortion selector footswitch. This switch just dis-engages the octave effect for pure monstrous fuzz-distortion. 2) there is a Pre-gain control added to the front of the circuit. When the Pre-Gain control is at maximum, it is the same sound as the original. 3) it is built with negative ground circuit so that it will work well with other pedals on a 9v daisy chain. The pedal runs on a 9v battery and has a DC jack that is wired to work with a typical Boss/Ibanez power supply (negative tip). When the Octave is engaged and the pre-gain is on full the unit is running as a replica of the original. The Pre-Gain is extremely useful for dialing in some great sounding fuzzed-octave sounds..
This unit compares favorably with similar stompboxes costing hundreds of dollars more and has more versatility than all the others (See YouTube link below). The stompbox has the same foot-print size as a typical Boss pedal but it is oriented with "front-loading" jacks to be pedal-board-friendly. It is true-bypass and has another foot switch to choose between heavy distortion or the famous and original distorted-Octave. The pedal is new and it is rock solid. Hand-wired enclosure-mounted Switchcraft jacks insure that you will have no problems with the jacks during your lifetime, no matter how many times you plug/unplug cables into it.
This pedal includes a Two-Year original-owner unconditional guaranty (owner pays shipping costs). Be sure to check out the Octavia "Shoot out" YouTube video below. This is the same circuit as the GGG TOCT in the shoot out, but has an added footswitch to cut the octave sound for an additional distortion sound. If you have any questions, let us know.
